Traverse City is a one-of-a-kind town, with a scenic riverway weaving right through downtown that was waiting to be explored. In 2014, our founder, Troy Daily, saw an exciting opportunity to create something unique—combining the beauty of Traverse City’s waterways with the growing craft brewery scene. With breweries popping up and scenic routes along Boardman Lake, the Boardman River, and West Grand Traverse Bay, Troy envisioned an experience that would bring people outdoors, keep them active, and immerse them in the vibrant local culture.
Kayak, Bike & Brew was born from a passion for adventure, community, and showcasing the best of Traverse City. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, our commitment is simple: to deliver a fun, active, and unforgettable way to experience the heart of our town—on the water, on two

At Kayak, Bike & Brew, we’re deeply committed to preserving the natural beauty of Traverse City’s waterways and trails. Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, and we take active steps to protect the environment while sharing this breathtaking area with our guests.
Our dedication to being responsible stewards includes practical efforts like providing garbage cans along the riverway, and organizing regular river cleanups each year. We proudly partner with local organizations such as TART Trails and Boardman River Clean Sweep to help maintain and restore the natural landscapes that make Traverse City so special.
We also believe that everyone can play a part in protecting the environment during their visit. Every guest receives a complimentary reusable drawstring backpack to safely store their belongings. We encourage all of our guests to pick up any litter they encounter along the way, ensuring that we leave the area better than we found it.
To further reduce waste, we’ve made a conscious decision to not allow beverages on the waterways or trails, which helps minimize litter and environmental impact.
